To-Do List

Dec 12, 2023 by Rose O'Keefe

My late brother David had a long article on “A Brief History of the Irish in Texas” that was included in the Teacher’s Curriculum Guide: Ireland (2000) for the Houston International Festival of 2001. I had read his article 23 years ago, but not the rest of the book. It’s been good.

Probably 30 years ago, my mother sent me a copy of All These Things (1986) by Lucia Maye Wiant, whom I believe my mother had met briefly. It offers an original take on the vibrational history of the universe and the importance of constantly choosing positive thoughts, sending out beams of light to one and all.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the December issue of CITY Music, Arts, Culture. It’s got such a great blend of information, colorful images and fresh writing that I don’t recycle it until I’ve read the whole thing. Beside the various Rochester food and event listings, I really liked Rebecca Rafferty’s “Take Care” article on items to keep in stock for sharing with those in need. Beyond the winter socks, gloves, hats and scarves were things that I hadn’t thought of, like a bus pass and a note of encouragement.
