Got What I Wanted
From my earlier visit, I wondered how come I had never heard about this? Koch answered that question and more in his regional history which described the complicated alliances the Haudenosaunee had with Dutch, French and English colonists. Eventually, while others chose to remain neutral at the beginning of the American Revolution, the Oneida Haudenosaunee sided with the Americans and provided warriors and supplies to Washington at a crucial time.
Koch also answered questions about the decades-long legal battles to settle illegal land sales to New York state in the late 1700s. Wow, well done!
On another happy note, I am looking forward next week to the rehearsal of my play, “When the Piper Visits and the Piper Plays.” The reading by Rochester Community Players is Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. at the MUCCC.
