Coping with a Cold

Winkler and Oliver co-authored fun and far-fetched stories of the antics of a dyslexic student, Hank. These new-looking paperback editions got me searching through the front matter to find out when they were first printed: in the early 2000s. No wonder they're easy to like.
They're set in New York City before everyone's lives got taken over by technology. The characters that continue from story to story are his three best friends who live in the same apartment building, his parents, dog, sister and her pet iguana, his beloved grandfather, his dreaded school teacher, a class bully, popular students and teachers, favorite stores and shopkeepers.
Not only does it bring back fond memories of New York City in the early 2000s, the crazy messes he creates by overcompensating for not knowing how to read or count lead to outlandish problems. His solution to "I Got A D in Salami" made me laugh out loud. So much fun. I've read six of them, and I plan to read all the rest in the series. I can't wait to find out what happens next.
